Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She started working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta is bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her get her first position as producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she worked with the producers of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. It was the CBS subsidiary in St. Petersburg hired her after this as a sports reporter. She moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues as well as drug trafficking and various other topics on the Texas and Mexico border. Additionally, she worked as a Spanish reporter at the newscast of 5 p.m., an anchor and reporter of the newscast at nine p.m. on English and again an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. She would also fill in on occasion as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's affiliate station in Dallas. She was also given more duties. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and was the anchor. She was advertised as a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in the same role on Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins' parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they were moved to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. There is also an older sibling. In 1992, the family left Mexico to the US and eventually settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents separated soon after. In 1995, she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten an offer to work. Antonietta was just graduating from high school, however she knew her plans for what she would accomplish. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she was looking for. After completing her studies, she was admitted to the university as a major of media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was student in the class, established an ongoing relationship with her. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her by his love of journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
